About Best Leeds
Why Best Leeds exists, which Leeds jobs its lists cover, the districts they reach and what pays for the site, which carries no adverts.
Choosing a firm in Leeds usually means a neighbour’s tip, a leaflet on the mat or a search page where every company calls itself the one to hire. Best Leeds exists to do the sorting first. Each list is short and holds local firms whose trade is that very job, which gives you a sensible place to begin ringing round.
What the lists cover
The needs people in Leeds actually have. Plumbers, electricians, roofers, damp proofing, cellar and loft conversions, double glazing and kitchens. Private doctors, dentists, opticians, physiotherapists, scans and counselling. Aesthetic clinics, hairdressers and beauty salons. Conveyancers, family and employment solicitors, accountants, mortgage brokers and chartered surveyors, plus letting agents and student accommodation. MOT centres, garages and driving instructors. Nurseries, tutors, dance and music schools. Wedding venues, caterers and photographers. Vets, groomers and dog boarding. Lists are added gradually, so the site keeps growing.
The city and its suburbs
These lists serve anyone who lives, studies or works in Leeds, from Headingley and Hyde Park to Chapel Allerton, Roundhay and Oakwood, Meanwood, Kirkstall and Armley, Horsforth, Pudsey, Morley and Rothwell. Each business shows its address, so the trip by bus, train, bike or car is yours to weigh up. Firms based in Bradford, Wakefield, Otley or Wetherby fall outside the area covered.
What we leave to others
Nobody at Best Leeds is a tradesperson, a clinician or a lawyer. We do not advise on medicine, law, investments or building, book appointments, take payments from readers, inspect work or check each firm’s licences. Whatever you agree is settled with the business itself. The ‘How we select’ page names the registers where credentials can be looked up.
What pays for the site
Reading is free and the site carries no adverts. No payment secures a place in any list. A firm that is already listed may pay for Pro, a fuller page with photos, contact details, offers and prices, or for Top, a highlighted spot near the head of its list. Each is labelled.
